 Trimble TSC5 - Touch Screen adhesive failures

Hello Everyone,

Is anyone else having issues with their TSC5 touch screens?

We have had two units where the touch screen adhesive appears to have failed and the screen pops off the body of the TSC5.

This has happened to two units so far, both of the same age and usage.

Yes - we had the same issue with the TSC7's. Had to have 3 of our 5 replaced so far.

Word on the street is, they changed adhesives between the prototype and production phases.  The prototype adhesive was fine but the production version softens in the sun over time.  Should be a warranty issue for sure.

That sounds familiar. Happened 10 years ago with the TSC3's as well. Short after the dealers send out screen protector packages with a big "UV-Protection" sticker on them.

Haven't had issues with the TSC7 yet. The glass protector is relative good but if it has a crack it is a pain in the rain. Water will seep into the crack and produce fake inputs all over the screen.
And that glass protector is rather hard to get off, you think you rip the whole screen out.

There was an issue with the screen adhesive in the first batches of the TSC5 and in certain conditions the screens were detaching. The problem has been resolved.

If you have TSC5's with a screen issue you should reach out to your Reseller ASAP as there is a replacement option for units from within the original batch with this adhesion issue. Note that the Replacement offer has a deadline and is coming to an end soon.
