This is a useful set of macros added to help a machine operator to update the grid model by placing the bucket tip or closed grab on the placed material and a CI510 button push to update the surface for a single grid bin. In Acquisition customize a shortcut to associate 'Crane tool measure: log to file' with a CI510 switch button. (The Trimble CI510 device needs to be configured as a 'State' device first) Operator places the bucket tip (L,M,R) or closed grab on the placed material and push the button to update the current grid model by 1 grid square . Choose the appropriate grid bin size for your model to suit this type of measurement or take several measurements ...

Working jack-up barges need to know that they can drop spuds without damaging existing seabed infrastructure. TMC Restricted Area guidance provides a solution. Define polygon areas for know avoidance zones or use a route with tolerance width for a pipeline or cable Define offsets points (eg Spuds) or Vessel shape to trigger alarms when entering the avoidance zones Relays can be configured to be triggered by the alarm so for example an external audio or visual device can be powered on/off Add a 'Restricted Area' layer to the Plan View display The cable avoidance zone (10ft either side of route) is shown on the plan view as the vessel ...

It can be useful sometimes to improve TMC 2D display performance or for Restricted Area vessel outlines to use a 2D Vessel Countour instead of the full 3D model of the vessel. To do this quickly without any manual entry: Open the 3D model in Sketchup Set the Camera view to Parallel Projection Change view to be from the top, select the model and export 2D Graphic as DXF Repeat for left and rear camera views. In TMC create a new Vessel Contour and Edit In the Vessel Contour editor click in the 'Top' pane to make it Active then use the Import from DXF to select the top view created from Sketchup Repeat for the Left and Back panes Use SHIFT ...

Trimble GA830 Antenna dramatically improve the out of band signal rejection for the high band frequencies (1525 – 1610 MHz) through increasing the number of filters and changing the steepness of the frequency response. The changes can be seen in the frequency response plots for Zephyr 2 versus Zephyr 3 which uses the same architecture as the GA830. The Iridium filtering on the GA830 is independent of the MSS wide/narrow band filtering. The GA830 provides 35 dB of rejection (relative to the GPS L1 Center frequency) for the Inmarsat and Iridium signals. TMC v4.4.9.17 includes the capability to have a single grid model be updated by multiple vessels on a network. The basic requirements are: Nominate one instance of TMC running on a network as the 'Server'. This can be a working vessel or just an office installation. Setup a Grid model in the TMC project on the Server PC and configure the Logging settings to enable Grid Model Server with an IP address of 127.0.0.1 (Local) Use Windows sharing to share the TMC project folder with everyone on the network. Enable Grid model Server in the Logging settings of all the other TMC instances (vessels) on the network and point them to the server IP (the IP address ...

Mechanical Grab EC520 Standard driver Create the attachment in the EC520 Tech UI using the normal bucket measure-up and calibration. EC520 Measure-up Point J is the tip if the ‘Moving Shell’ G-J is used by the EC520 driver to populate the ‘Moving Shell’ Y Offset Width is used by the EC520 driver to populate the Effective Width NOTE: These values can be edited in TMC but will be overwritten by the EC520 driver so should only be edited in the EC520 Tech UI. TMC v4.4.5.9 on an EC520 based HEX system with a free hanging variable grab. There are 2 suggested solutions: Configure the EC520 with a tilting bucket and use the 'Bucket angle' and 'Bucket Tilt' from the EC520 as the Grab Riser Pitch and Roll. Use a stand alone GS520 on CAN2 for the Grab Riser Pitch and Roll NOTE: Until EC520 supports a 'No Attachment' configuration the dogbone sensor will be required for attachment calibration and CAN API operation. Option #1 using TMC v4.4.5.9 is: Configure the EC520 with a tilting bucket Install both sensors on the Grab Riser. EC520 attachment calibration is important since this will affect the bucket ...
